What this directory is

Brisbane Childcare Directory lists 70 childcare centre businesses across Brisbane, built for parents and carers who want a clear, comparable view of local providers before they call or tour a centre. We are not a booking agent and we do not run the centres we list. We are an independent directory and comparison resource: we gather public information, organise it consistently, and rank it against a published set of criteria so families can shortlist faster.

We also generate enquiries for local providers. When you ask to be matched with a centre, we pass your enquiry to providers relevant to your request, and we may receive a referral fee for that introduction. This never changes how a centre is scored or where it sits in the rankings. The quote page on this site spells out that arrangement in full before you submit any enquiry.

Where the listing data comes from

Each listing draws on two things: public business information (things like location, hours, licensing details, and services offered) and a synthesis of recent Google reviews. We read the review activity for patterns, themes, and sentiment over time, but we do not republish review text on this site. If you want to read what families have actually written, we link out directly to the centre’s Google listing so you can see the original reviews yourself.

Listings are refreshed on a monthly cycle, which keeps details current as centres update their hours, staff, or services.

How rankings are earned

Rankings come from a rubric applied consistently to the data we collect, covering things like review sentiment, consistency of service signals, and how current a centre’s public information is. You can read the full breakdown on our methodology page. There is no way to pay for a better position. Where a listing is sponsored, it is labelled “Sponsored” and shown in a separate section from the earned ranking, never blended into it.

A centre that finds an error in its own listing (a wrong phone number, an old address, outdated opening hours) can request a correction, and we will fix factual details once verified. What a business cannot do is edit its own score, its sentiment reading, or its position in the ranking. That stays independent of the business being listed.

Brisbane Childcare Directory is published by Scout Local Media, an independent Australian publisher that has focused on practical, real-world local directories since 2026. Scout Local Media builds its listings from published review data and public business information, keeps them current through monthly refresh cycles, and holds to a rule that rankings are earned, never bought.
